Clarinet
The young clarinetist Dídac Carpi was born on February 3, 2011 in El Verger, Alacant – Spain, into a family of professional musicians.
He began studying clarinet at the age of 6 with his father, the clarinetist Pere Carpi, and at the age of 7 he began his studies at the “José Peris Lacasa” Professional Conservatory of Music in Alcañiz (Teruel), where he is currently studying Second Year of Intermediate Degree.
Since 2021 he has been a student of the clarinetist and pedagogue Venancio Rius. Dídac participated in masterclasses with renowned clarinetists and pedagogues such Yehuda Gilad, Javier Martínez, Sebastian Hayn, Shirley Brill, Florent Héau, August Finkas, Alberto Álvarez, Alberto Agut, Kilian Herold, Joan Enric Lluna, Ausiàs Garrigós and Roy Jowitt Clarinet Quartet.
In 2021 he was awarded in the VII Clarinet Competition “Cidade de Ourense” and has obtained the First Prize in the I Chalumeau Competition for Young Clarinetists of Lorca (Murcia). In 2022 he won the First Prize at PaMus Flow Global Music Clarinet Competition in Croatia, First Prize at InMusic Festival Clarinet Competition in Portugal, First Prize at IMKA Music Competition in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Third Prize at I International Clarinet Competition “Honorable Vila de Picanya”, First Prize and best performance of piece by Swedish composer at IX Stockholm International Music Competition, First Prize with Honorable Mention at Music Competition Online in Paris and First Prize at II International Music Competition Małopolska 2022 in Poland.
In 2023 he wins First Prize at IILugano International Music Competition Tiziano Rossetti in Switzerland, First Prize at I International Artists Competition in Austria, Grand Prix at International Music Competition OPUS 2023 in Poland, First Prize with Honorable Mention at “XII Concurs Joves Intèrprets Escola de Música Joan Garcés Queralt de Faura” in València – Spain, First Prize at “I Concurso Online Aeducar del CPM de Alcañiz” in Spain, First Prize and Youth Award Marcello Abbado Tribute Award at 15th Luigi Cerritelli International Competition in Italy, First Prize at “X Concurso de Jóvenes Intérpretes de Yátova Javier Doménech Esteve” in Spain, Second Prize at XI North International Music Competition in Sweden, First Prize at New York Classical Music Competition, First Prize at Beethoven Young Musician Competition in Vienna, Gold Medal at 2nd Witold Friemann International Clarinet Competition in Poland and First Prize at “21º Concorso Internazionale per Clarinetto Città di Carlino” in Italy.
