Noa Matijević was born on May 11, 2007. in Zagreb, Croatia. In
2014/2015 starts elementary school, and in parallel in
2015/2016. begins to attend the primary music school Pavao
Markovac, and enrolls in bassoon with mentor Ivana Lovrić.
Already at an early age, he gets his first big award. In 2017, he
won first prize at the Woodwind & Brass competition, and in
2017/2018. won the HDGPP national competition as a laureate
in the bassoon discipline. For success at the national
competition, he receives a special award “Oscar of Knowledge”.
In 2020, he received the second prize at the HDGPP regional
competition. After persistent practicing and work in 2023, he
applied for the Woodwind & Brass competition again, and won
the first prize. In addition, he delighted the jury with his
performance, and was invited to the final of the competition.
Along with numerous awards, he attended the seminars of the
respected bassoon professor Robert Lovrić, who helped him a
lot in the development of his musical career. He has a lot of
bassoonists he likes such as Theo Plath and Klaus Thunemann.
Noa loves to play and wants to be the best.
