Andreja Puhar – Outstanding Educator Award


Andreja Puhar graduated with highest honors (Summa cum laude) in 2010 from the Academy
of Music in Ljubljana, majoring in Music Education under Professor Darja Koter. She
completed her recorder studies at the Conservatory of Music and Ballet Ljubljana under
Professor Mateja Bajt.
She has further developed her knowledge through numerous seminars (Prof. H. M. Kneihs,
Prof. H. M. Linde) and summer masterclasses.
Since 1995, she has been actively engaged at the Tržič Music School, where she is dedicated
to nurturing young recorder players and teaching chamber music for this instrument. Her
students regularly perform both as soloists and in chamber ensembles, achieving numerous
first prizes at international competitions as well as gold awards at the National Competition
for Young Musicians of the Republic of Slovenia (TEMSIG) – in both solo and ensemble
(recorder quartet) categories.
