Barbara Pliszka, age 15, was born on December 19, 2003 in Olsztyn, Poland. She started learning to play the violin at the age of 6 using the Suzuki method with teacher Dorota Obijalska. She is currently a second year student of the 2nd degree of State Music School of F. Chopin in Olsztyn. Her teacher is Mrs. Olga Kłosowska.

Barbara participates in the artistic life of the school and the city of Olsztyn. In recent years, Barbara has taken part in more than 70 competitions as a soloist and chamber musician in a variety of group ensembles (from duet to nonet), winning numerous prizes and getting honourable mentions.

Additionally, she takes part in charity concerts for the local community.
In 2014, with the string group „Absolwent” Barbara performed during the event of the Olsztyn President’s Awards for special achievements in artistic creation. In 2015, in Olsztyn, she performed alongside Waldemar Malicki as part of the “Making music together” workshops.
She participated in concerts “From a student to a concertmaster” at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, where she had the honour of playing in a duet with a concertmaster – Bogdan Śnieżawski.

She continues to improve her skills at music workshops and instrumental courses with an outstanding teacher – Dr Karina Gidaszewska.
