Fung Kai-sze (Jessica Fung) received her B.A. and M.A. in music from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She majors in dizi under the tutelage of Choo Boon-chong, minors in Vocal and Cantonese Opera, also plays the piano and xiao. During her undergraduate studies, she has been awarded the Ng Tai-kong Memorial Scholarship (2016 & 2017), Kong Yue-kau Memorial Scholarship (2016& 2017) and Yam and Pak Scholarship for Chinese Opera (2017).

She started learning the dizi at the age of 8 and has been awarded several prizes in the Hong Kong School Music Festival. She has attained Grade 10 (Shanghai Conservatory of Music) and Performance Diploma (Central Conservatory of Music) both with distinctions in 2010 and 2011, and was two times invited to perform in the Concert of Distinctions for Chinese Music. She performed her dizi in various cities including London, Saint Petersburg, Vienna and Singapore.
