Duo Forti – De Nardi
The cellist Davide Forti and the pianist Francesca De Nardi met during their studies at the
Conservatory “G. Tartini” in Trieste, Italy. They started to play as a duo in 2016, performing in
different cities in the north-east of Italy and in Ireland and attending numerous masterclasses with
international musicians, like Daniel Rowland, Trio di Parma, Maja Bogdanovic. Last year they have
been selected to take part to the Apprentice Ensembles Programme under the tutelage of the RTÉ
Contempo Quartet and from then on they performed in many concerts in Dublin, Galway, Cividale,
Belluno, Trieste.
Davide Forti was born in 1993 in Trieste. He achieved his Master’s Degree in Violoncello in 2017
with the highest honours at the “Conservatorio G. Tartini”, Trieste, Italy. In 2013 he won the third
prize at the “Lilian Caraian” competition in Trieste. He attended several masterclasses in Cividale
(withThomas Carroll, Julian Arp and Maja Bogdanovic, Daniel Rowland), Portogruaro (with Enrico
Bronzi, Stefano Cerrato), Dublin (Hannah Roberts, Richard Harwood).
In 2014 he attended the chamber music course with his piano trio at the “International chamber
Music Academy” in Duino, Italy (Trio di Parma). He collaborates with many orchestral groups,
such as “Orchestra Giovanile San Giusto” and “Camerata Strumentale Italiana”. He is currently
attending the Recital Artist Diploma at the “Royal Irish Academy of Music” in Dublin, with
William Butt.
Francesca De Nardi was born in Trieste in 1991. She started her piano studies with his father, then
with Paolo Bidoli at the Conservatory “G. Tartini” in Trieste, Italy, where she took her Master’s
degree in 2012 with the highest honours. She attended various masterclasses with international
musicians and is now official accompanist of the choir “G. V. S. Cantarè”. At the same time she
started playing the violin, graduating in 2017 in the same Conservatory with Sinead Nava.
Currently she is studying with the pianist Federico Consoli and is attending the Master in Music
Performance in violin under Karl Sweeney at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, where she also has
a busy activity as accompanist. In the last years she worked with different chamber groups, string
and symphonic orchestras, e.g. “Orchestra Filarmonica Monfalconese”, “Orchestra Giovanile San
Giusto” and “Fishamble Sinfonia”.
