My name is Marcelina Dera, I’m 15 years old. I live in Szamotuły, a town located 35 km
from Poznań. From an early age I wanted to play the violin, I really liked the sound of this
difficult instrument. I started learning how to play the violin at the age of 8 at the State Primary
Music School in Szamotuły under the supervision of Leszek Wojtowicz. I continue my studies at
the instrumental department, also the violin at the Mieczysław Karłowicz Secondary Music
School in Poznań, where I am taught by professor AMP Ewelina Pachucka – Mazurek. I try to
improve my skills by participating in many courses and music workshops. For 3 years in a row I
participated in the Summer Orchestral Workshop “Muzyka na Smyki” in Karpacz. This year I
took part in the Tadeusz Wroński International Violin Course in Puławy, in the class of a
professor Agata Szymczewska.In my free time, I really like composing violin pieces with my
friend, with whom I share a room in the boarding school. I also like playing with my border collie
dogs.
I consider the most important achievements of the last two years to be:
