Madara Knezina was born on May 24, 2009 in Riga, Latvia. Her first
experience in music was playing the piano.
From September 1, 2016 Madara is studies oboe at the National Art Secondary
School “Emila Darzina Music school” in Riga. Her oboe teacher is a prominent
Latvian oboist Kristine Kupca.
Madara is several competitions laureate in Latvia and outboard. In 2021 Madara
received seventeen awards. Some of them: VIII Stockholm International Music
Competition 2021 – Sweden (2 nd place), II Brussels International Music Competition
– Belgium (2 nd place), King’s Peak International Music Competition – USA (1 st
place), The MAP International Music Competition – USA (2 nd place), The Music
Competition Online – France (1 st place), North International Music Competition (2 nd
place).
This year she has received – Classical Music Competition – Charleston
International Music Competition (2 nd place), IX Rome International Music
Competition (2 nd place), International Online Music Competition Prof. Dr.Dobri
Paliev (3 rd place), Nouvelles Etoiles (3 rd place) LONDON INTERNATIONAL
MUSIC COMPETITION (2 nd place), International Competition of Classical Music,
Carnegie Hall (1 st place).
In May 2021 and 2022, Madara received an award from the Ministry of Culture
of the Republic of Latvia for success in international competitions. In 2022 1 st Latvian
Radio chose Madara to represent Latvia in Dvořák International Radio Competition
Concertino Praga 2022. Also, she is invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New
York City as part of the Global Artist Debut Concert.
Madara likes to be on the stage. Her dream is to play as a soloist and would also
be honored to play in the Latvian Symphony Orchestra.
Madara’s hobby is horse riding and does it very well. She also likes to swim and
draw. Madara is very positive.
