Egbuchiem Andrew, a countertenor from Nigeria, Classical music is his first love, the key to the secret garden of his heart, his most powerful magic wand, and his life. So talks about himself this opera singer.

“I see music performance music as way to reach out to another soul using sounds in a way to reach out to another soul using sounds in away mere words alone can never express. As I perform, it reveals so much about the human emotions – what I feel of love, dreams, fears and life.

Singing started it all.  From childhood, singing has struck with me like magic. And over the years that magical process has had its way with me, leading me from simple childhood singing fantasies into huge world of Classical Music and opera.”

Mr. Andrew Egbuchiem made his debut in the performance of Handel’s Judas Maccabeus in Nigeria in 1999.

Mr. Egbuchiem was an artist in residence for the Singers of United Land Project between December 2013 and June 2014 touring through the east half of the United States, Kenya, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Poland and Latvia. Mr. Egbuchiem sang the role of Sorceress in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas in the Summer Vocal Arts Program in 2016 in Brooklyn NY. In the summer of 2017, Mr. Egbuchiem performed in Cavalli’s “Ercole Amante” at the Baroque Opera Workshop Queens New York and Cavalli’s Erismena at the Amherst Baroque Music Festival in Connecticut and the role of “Sylphie” in Gluck’s Echo et Narcisse in Brooklyn New York. Mr. Egbuchiem sang the role of Orlofsky Minuetto Music Festival production of John Strauss’sDie Fledermaus in New Jersey and the role of Huntsman and shepherd 3 in production of John Blow’s Venus and Adonis at the Summer Vocal Arts program Brooklyn in 2018

Mr. Andrew Egbuchiem was awarded second prize in the Artsong and Oratorio division (for men) by the American Prize for 2017/2018, the Milton Cross Rising Star Award 2018 in NJ, a second place Classical repertoire category by the American Protégé International Vocal Competition 2018 and a third place winner at Global Classical Music Awards International Competition 2018.
