LIGIA NOWAK was born on 28 December 2006 in Wrocław, Poland. She started to learn the
harp at the Karol Szymanowski Primary and Secondary Music School of General Education
in Wrocław. At the age of eleven years, she became a student of the Karol Szymanowski
Young Academy of Music in Katowice under Prof. Helga Storck. Now she is a pupil of Prof.
Malwina Lipiec -Rozmysłowicz.
Ligia has won 23 awards, including 4 Grand Prix and 15 first prizes, both in national and
international competitions.

She has also received numerous honourable mentions and special prizes.

As a ten-year-old soloist, Ligia performed the Harp Concerto by G.Ch. Wegenseil with the
Polish Orchestra in Sopot conducted by Andrzej Kosendiak in the National Forum of Music
in Wrocław. It was the Inauguration Concert of the International Festival ‘May with Old
Music’ (Maj z Muzyką Dawną). Ligia has also performed as a soloist with the Lower Silesian
Philharmonic Orchestra in Jelenia Góra, and in May 2018 she gave the premiere performance
of the Harp Concerto by J.G.Albrechtsberger with the National Forum of Music Orchestra in
Wrocław. During IX International Harp Festival in Katowitz 2019 she played as a solist with
the NOSPR M.Małecki-Concertino in old style. Ligia was also a solist in the Castle Ballroom
at the final concert of Zenon Brzewski International Courses in Łańcut.
For several years now, she has been a recipient of the Scholarship of the Mayor of Wrocław
and since last year of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
