MARIA LEWICKA FLUTE

A master’s student at the Hochschule Luzern – Musik in the flute class of Sarah Rumer.She studied at the Fryderyk Chopin Music University in Białystok in Krystyna Gołaszewska’s flute class, at the Zurcher Hochschule der Kunste in Zurich in Maria Goldschmidt-Pahn’s flute class and at the Universitat der Kunste Berlin in Christina Fassbender’s flute class.She attended Grażyna Bacewicz’s ZPOSM I and II degree No. 3 in Warsaw. She started learning to play the piano at the age of 6. At the age of 11 she performed at the National Philharmonic in a concert for Little Music lovers, performing the Waltz in A minor by Fryderyk Chopin. She startedlearning to play the flute at the age of 12 and already in the first year of her studies she received 2nd prize at the National Spring Flute Festival in Sochaczew (1st prize was not awarded).She took part in many masterclasses in Poland and abroad, including she has participated in many masterclasses at home and abroad, among others under the direction of Sir James and Lady JeanneGalway, Peter Lukas Graf, Walter Auer, Denis and Erin Bouriakov, Andrea Lieberknecht, Urszula Janik, Carlo Jans, Christina Fassbender, Elisabet Franch,Elżbieta Gajewska-Gadzina, Elżbieta Dastych-Szwarc, Olga Ivusheikova, Kersten Mccall, Janos Balint, Nicola Mazzanti, Patricia Morris, Rena Urso, Gudrun Hinze, Marta Rossi, Elżbieta Woleńska and Seweryn Zapłatyński.She has won awards at numerous competitions both solo and in chamber ensembles. In 2016 she played in the Polish Youth Orchestra LYO at the European Krzysztof Penderecki MusicCentre in Lusławice.Since June 2016 she has been cooperating and performing as a soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of the National Philharmonic in off-site concerts, among others in the cycle “Masters of Music Landscapes” (Vivaldi-Morricone and Bach-Kilar programmes).In July, as a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture of Luxembourg, she participated in a masterclass at the International Forum for flute and piano (Diekirch, Luxembourg).In 2017 she played in the International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra at the Szczecin Philharmonic.In April 2018, she won first prize at the National Spring Festival in Sochaczew and a distinction at the International Wind Instruments Competition Pro Bohemia 2018 in Ostrava.In November 2018 she won the Gold Diploma at the “FINALIS 2018” International Flute Competition and in 2019 she was finalist of the Dutch International Flute Competition 2019 in theNetherlands. In July 2019 she participated in the 30th Anniversary Galway Flute Festival in Weggis, Switzerland and in the International Piccolo Festival in Grado, Italy. In January 2020, she performed at the KKL Cultural and Congress Centre in Lucerne as part of the Gala Concert on the occasion of the 80th Sir James Galway’s birthday at the Galway Flute Academy.In 2019 and 2020, she received a scholarship from the Marshal of the Mazovian Voivodeship and the Rector of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. In 2020 she was successfully recruited and in July this year she will participate in Galway Flute Festival in the flute class of Sir James Galway. In 2020 she won second prize at the International Music Moscow Competition 2020, an award at the International Vienna New Year’s Concert International Music Competition 2020.In December 2020, she recorded an album with film music by Ennio Morricone with the National Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra in Warsaw.In 2021 she won third prize at the International Online Competition Magic Muse 2021 in Moscow and third prize at the American Music Talent Competition 2021, first prize at the Lisbon Stars Music Competition, first prize at the London Young Musician, second prize at the III. Wiener Klassiker Danubia Talents International Online Music Competition, distinction at the Superior Culture International Youth Music Festival 2021, first prize at the I. International Competition of Music and Arts London 2021, first prize at the IMKA International Internet Music&Dance Competition in Sarajevo and first prize at the I. International Music Competition „Ars Astra“ in Moskau.
