Elizabeth Gekova Violin

Elizabeth Gekova (born on 15 January 2006 in Sofia, Bulgaria) took her first violin lessons at
the age of six with Mrs. Blagorodna Taneva and she is currently in her class at the National Music
School Lyubomir Pipkov in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Her first “International Competition of Young Musicians playing classical instruments” brought her a
first prize and a golden medal when she is 8 years old. At the age of 10 she won first prize and a gold
medal at XXIII National Competition for Performance of Bulgarian music. She had also been awarded
in many national and international competitions. Some of the more significant ones are: Intl.
competition for young violinists “Leonid Kogan”, Brussels, Belgium (laureate of 2019 – 2 nd prize);
YIMC “Hopes, talents, masters” (laureate of 2019 – 1 st prize); XLIV Intl. competition “Proff. Nedyalka
Simeonova” (1 st prize); Intl. competition “The sound of time” (absolute 1 st prize), VI Odin International
Music Competition (laureate of 2020 – 2nd prize), Intl. competition for instrumentalists and
composers “Music and Earth” (laureate of 2021 – 1 st place and special prize in the name of Vasko
Abadzhiev). Elizabeth is also a scholarship holder to Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria.
Elizabeth Gekova has already worked with renowned violin professors such as Prof. Dora
Schvarzberg, Prof. Pavel Vernikoff, Prof. Dmitri Berlinsky, Prof. Svetlana Makarova, Prof. Igor
Volochine, Prof. Michael Frischenschlager, Mila Georgieva, Prof. Albena Danailova, Prof. Svetlin
Roussev, Dimitar Burov, Zornitsa Ilarionova, Maria Ramalchanova, Prof. Kevork Mardirosian, Prof.
Mario Hossen.
Elizabeth has given successful performances in Kaisersaal (Vienna), St. Peter’s Cathedral,
Crypt (Vienna), The National Palace of Culture (Sofia, Bulgaria), many performaces at the charity
events, as well as a soloist
