Zornitsa Ilarionova Violin

Zornitsa Ilarionova studied with the world-renowned professor Zakhar Bron at the Escuela
Superior de Musica Reina Sofia, Madrid and with the prominent international violinist Mario
Hossen at New Bulgarian University, as well as at “Santa Cecilia” Music Academy in Bergamo,
Italy under Professor Pavel Vernikov.

She has numerous prizes in many national and international violin competitions, including
“Pancho Vladigerov”, “Young Virtuosos”, ”Kanetti” (Antaliya, Turkey), First International Violin
Competition “Varna” 2015 and many others. She has enjoyed performances in Paris, Cannes,
Monaco, Madrid, Lisbon, Brussels, Hamburg, Essen, Moscow, Vienna, Bratislava, Bern, Ljubljana,
Interlaken, and in numerous international music festivals. She has worked with musicians
including Pavel Vernikov,prof. Michaela Martin, Augustin Dumay, Boris Garlitsky, Igor
Petrushevsky, Midori, Ivry Gitlis, Michael Frischenschlager, Gerard Poulet, Donald Weilerstein,
Oleg Krysa, Latica Honda-Rosenberg, Svetlin Roussev, Vadim Gluzmanm Yuri Volgin and many
others.

Zornitsa Ilarionova regularly performs as a soloist of symphony orchestras and chamber music
at many prominent international music festivals in Bulgaria and abroad such as:

International festival of Arts “Apolonia”, European International Music Festival, “Varna
Summer” International Music Festival, “March Music Days” International Festival, International
Festival “Laureate days Katya Popova”, International Festival “Evmelia” – Greece, International
Music Festival in Villecroze – France, International Music Festival “Tibor Varga” – Sion, Swiss,
International Music Festival “Vladimir Spivakov” – Moscow, International Music Festival
“Orpheus” – Vienna, International Chamber Music Festival “Böhlen” – Germany, International
Music Festival “Santander” – Spain, International Festival “Musica Mundi” – Belgium

Zornitsa was awarded by Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria for high achievements in the art of
violin playing. She is grateful for the support of the “Dimitar Berbatov” Foundation as one of the
most successful young musicians in Bulgaria. She is a laureate of the competition, organized by
“Yordan Kamdzhalov” Foundation.

In 2014 she received from her Majesty Queen Sofia in Royal Palace of El Pardo in Madrid, Spain
the award “The best violinist in the violin class of Zakhar Bron”. In September 2015 she was a
finalist at 13th International violin competition “Henryk Wieniawski” in Poland. Zornitsa is a
“Young Performer of 2015” of the prestigious Bulgarian award “Cristal Lyre”. She has been
especially recommended by Zakhar Bron as one of the most promising young violinists to
perform at one of the most renowned festivals in Europe – ”Encuentro de Santander 2016”. Her
recent achievements include:

▪ “Grand Prix” and the special award of Radio France concerts during 2017/2018 concert season
at XXV International Music Competition “Music and Earth” – Sofia, Bulgaria.
▪ becoming one of the 8 semifinalists at Windsor International String Competition in Windsor,
UK.
▪ 3rd prize at the International Music competition “Rising Stars” – Berlin, Germany.
▪ 2nd prize-winner at the International Violin Competition “Suna Kan” – Ankara, Turkey.
▪ 1st prize and also the Special prize of Thomastic Infeld at the International Music Competition
“E-Muse”, Greece.
▪ 1st prize winner at the International Music Competition “Rising Stars of Europe” in London,
UK.
▪ 1st prize at the International Music Competition “Best Wieniawski Performance” in honour of
the 182nd anniversary of the birth of Henryk Wieniawski, giving a successful performance of
his first violin concerto.
▪ Zornitsa Ilarionova has been selected as a finalist at the very prestigue and world – famous
Singapore International Violin Competition 2018.
▪ In November 2017 Zornits a Ilarionova successfully made her debut in Radio France, giving a
solo recital for the emission France Musique.
▪ 2nd prize winner at 3th International Manhattan Music Competition in New York, 2018.
▪ Classic P ure Vienna International Music C ompetition 2018 – Vienna, Austria – 3 rd Prize
▪ 1 st prize at the International Competition “Johann Sebastian Bach” in Fokuoka, Japan 2018,
and 1 st prize for best performance of work by Claude Deubssy

▪ In November 2019 she has been invited to perform at the gala concert of the 20th
anniversary of the art association “Philomuses” which has taken place at the famous hall
“Gaveau” in Paris, France
▪ Zornitsa Ilarionova has been invited to give masterclasses in Singapore, Spain, Austria and
Bulgaria
▪ “Musician of the year 2019” A ward (Bulgarian National Radio) – Winner at 2 categories
(“Ensenble of the year” and “Most successful concert artist”) – an unprecedended even t
during the 29 year history of the ceremony
▪ Her new album “Flying through the music” – officialy released in 2020 (On Amazon, Itunes
and Spotify)

▪ Winner of the “Musical Event of the Year 2020“ (Bulgarian National Television) in
collaboration with the renowed bulgarian jazz-singer Vassil Petrov and Vratza Symphony
Orchestra
▪ In March 2021, in Collaboration with the pianist Martina Tabakova, the Italian Label
“Onclassical” released an album with works by Cesar Frank
▪ Newest Album “Le Cadeau” officially released in April 2020 (soon on Amazon, Itunes and

▪ Zornitsa Ilarionova is a laureate of the prestigious award “Golden Feather” 2021 for a high
contribution to Bulgarian culture
▪ International Music Competition “Medici” 2021 – Italy – First prize in the Violin category and
also a First prize in the Chamber music category together with the pianist Maria -Elena Sredeva
