Maciej Grygiel – born in Kraków on January 2, 1979.
A graduate of the Academy of Music in Cracow under the supervision of Dr. Piotr
Tarcholik.
He perfected his skills, among others, with Walter Forchert, Rene Staar and Antoni Cofalik.
In 2003, he took part in a master class in Graz conducted by one of the concertmasters of
the Vienna Philharmonic.
In 2004, as a leader of the group of second violins, he participated in the Bach Academy
under the direction of H. Rilling.
During his studies he collaborated with the Krakow Philharmonic, Capella Cracoviensis,
the Beethoven Academy Orchestra, the Forum Sinfonia ensemble, in 2006-2011 with the
Opera and Philharmonic of Podlasie. At that time he played in the Alexander Tansman
string quartet. The quartet took part, among others, at the Contemporary Music Laboratory
Festival, the festival in Nałęczów, subscription concerts at the Białystok Philharmonic.
In 2014, he collaborated as concertmaster with the Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra.
Currently, he has been cooperating with the Gorzów Philharmonic and co-founder of H.M.
Gorecki String Quartet.
