Karolina Sekuła was born in 2002 in Toruń, Poland. She is in the fourth grade of Secondary Music School in Toruń, where she studies under the guidance of Professor Aleksandra Soboń –Wakarecy. Karolina is a laureate of several piano competitions: she won the I prize at The International Music Competition Muse in Athens (Greece, 2019), II prize at The 9th Piano Competition in Broumov (Czech Republic, 2019), I prize at: The 4th International Piano Competition in Trzciana (Poland, 2018), The 4th Chopin Piano Competition in Turzno (Poland, 2018), received the II prize and special award from National Fryderyk Chopin Institute at The 6th International Piano Competition in Augustów (Poland, 2018), special prize at PIANALE Junior Course&Competition in Schlitz (Germany, 2018). She has appeared as a concerto soloist with Toruń Symphony Orchestra. She performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, in Geneve, Germany, Lithuania, Żelazowa Wola – Fryderyk Chopin’s Birthplace as well as at Chopin Center in Szafarnia, at Probaltica Festival, Krzysztof Penderecki European Center in Lusławice. Karolina has participated in masterclasses led by Janusz Olejniczak, Ewa Pobłocka, Wiliam Fong, Zuzana Niederdorfer, Katarzyna Popowa –Zydroń. She is a receipient of the Primus Scholarship from Marshall of Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship (2016-2019), Cultural Scholarship from The President of The City of Toruń (2018) and is supported by the National Fund for Talented Children.
