Marley Erickson

Winner of the 2018 USA National MTNA Junior Strings Competition, 16-year-old Marley Erickson has presented numerous full-length recitals and appeared as soloist with orchestras on both sides of the Atlantic, concertizing in such venues as Walt Disney Concert Hall, Benaroya Hall, Paul Hall, Trinity Chapel, Antico Teatro Arrigoni, and Hejnice Basilica.  She took first place in Poland’s 2019 Fundacja Young Arts Competition, is a laureate of the 2016 International Louis Spohr and Il Piccolo Violino Magico Competitions and participated in the Menuhin Competition in 2016 and 2018.  Marley has performed in the Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies at The Juilliard School, the Kronberg Academy’s “Mit Musik- Miteinander,” and Festivals including Seattle’s Chamber Music Festival, the Kronberg Academy Festival, and Miedzynarodowy Music Festival.  She made her New York debut in 2019 at Salon de Virtuosi.
In 2016 Marley performed the North American Premiere of Oscar Colomina i Bosch’s “Shpigl” on the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Green Umbrella Series at Walt Disney Concert Hall to critical acclaim.  She has participated in summer programs including the Brian Lewis Young Artist Program, Cambridge International String Academy, Liberec International Violin Academy, The International Holland Music Sessions, and the Castleman Quartet Project.  She has had the honor of lessons and masterclasses with numerous artists including Paul Kantor, Tasmin Little, György Pauk, James Ehnes, Noah Bendix-Balgley,  Krystof Wegrzyn, Friedemann Eichhorn, Vadim Gluzman, Henning Kraggerud, and Augustin Hadelich.  From 2007-2019 Marley was a student of Seattle’s Coleman Violin Studio, studying with Jan Coleman and Simon James.  She currently studies in Budapest with Katalin Kokas and Barnabás Kelemen at the Franz Liszt Academy School for Exceptional Young Talents.
