
Kristian Cvetkovic was born in Zug, Switzerland on 2nd November 1991. At the age of five, Kristian was taught his first piano lessons and in 1998, he was admitted to Musikhochschule Luzern (Conservatorium Lucerne) where he received lessons from Diana Binder until 2004.
Kristian had his first public performance at the age of six and relatively early he gained experience at larger public events. With eleven, he played for the first time with orchestra.
From 2004, he started his pre-studies at the Zurich University of the Arts (Academy of Music Zurich) in Winterthur with Professor Karl-Andreas Kolly. In July 2011, Kristian received his Bachelor Diploma in piano. His further studies led him to the prestigious University of Music & Theatre in Leipzig where he earned his Master’s degree in 2015, mentored initially
by Professor Christian A. Pohl and later by Professor Markus Tomas. In the same year, he was
accepted for a Performer Diploma in the studio of world-famous pianist and pedagogue, Professor André Watts in the Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana, USA, finishing his general artistic development in 2017.Next to his numerous engagements in Switzerland and abroad and his successful participations at piano competitions (most recent ones being, since Summer 2021, Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition – 1 st prize / HKPPOC – 3rd prize / Royal Sound Music Competition – 3
rd prize / Global Genius Music Competition – Gold Prize / IMKA International Music Competition – 1 st prize), Kristian wished to pursue a career in musical pedagogy. He started studying the Piano Pedagogy
Master’s program at the Zurich University of the Arts in Zurich with Professor Hans-Jürg Strub in
2018, receiving his Diploma in early 2020.
Kristian is currently teaching piano at the Music School “Limmattal” in Zurich and engages himself in concerts and musical projects with fellow colleagues and his students.
